New Year's Resolution

. . . is to clean the house. And maybe (just maybe) keep it clean. Yeah, start laughing, I know, I'm a dreamer, what can I say.

Kitchen needed some serious reorganizing. The fruit baskets have been hiding in the corner. Everything was dirty and in disarray.

Now the fruit is more accessible, microwave is in the corner, coffee and tea makers are easy to use. Blender is near the sink, along with the rice cooker (for easy cleaning). Spice rack, paper towels, and wine rack are now on the counter without the electrical outlet, to make room for all the shit that needs to be plugged-in.

I made a shopping list (in addition to my absurd white board full of shit to do). If only I had monies. *sigh* Wish my life wasn't so expensive. TOO MUCH AHHH.

Organization needs to happen before my brain goes loco. I gotta do my desk soon. I'm not even joking. Maybe tomorrow, before and after pics. It's scary.

Sea Change

The strangest thing happened. I woke up at 2pm today. Went to bed around 9pm last night. I can't figure it out - there hasn't been a morning I slept past 7:30 in ages - and normally I'm bright at 5am. Still feeling like a zombie, but oddly peaceful.

Zebulon was nice, the weather was beautiful and I enjoyed spending time with my horsies. Unfortunately, three quarters of my pasture is a swamp from the crazy ass rain lately. I need to move some of them into the pasture next door, as soon as I figure out where the money is going to come from! Jewel and Deb are plumply preggo, Maggie is a bit on the thin side due to the old broads chasing her off her food, Suzie Q looks good, and Dream is just right. That is, from what I can tell under wholly mammoth fur caked with an inch of mud.

Around dinner time I was starving. Wal-Mart was not a good idea! Nearly an hour spent forlornly meandering up and down the aisles, WTF do I eat ? ? The first half of the day was uber easy. Dinner: not so much. Ended up with a bag of cole slaw (cabbage and carrots), a lil bottle of olive oil, and sea salt. Oh my goodness. So delicious! I ate half last night and half this morning for breakfast (at 2pm).

Unfortunately, the raw foods I purchased are not organic. Next shopping trip I will, but I hated to spend extra money on organics if I was going to be face first in a steak within two days. Insert dirty comment here.

I can't wait for my book to get here. Maybe it will give me a better idea WTF I'm doing. Honestly, I have no idea and it would be nice for a little guidance on paper.

Sea salt = yummy.

Om nom nom

<-- Smoothie Art: courtesy of my uber cool blender

Mah belleh is full of deliciousness. Eated a grapefruit with a spoon for breakfast, and saved some of the juice left over . . . . for my lunch-time smoothie. Blended it with a frozen banana and a handful of frozen berries. I drank it from a beer mug, just for comfort's sake :)

<--- Pouring Fail: thanks to my dumbass and gravity

I stuck with foods I am used to eating anyway, so the first half of today was easy. Now I have no idea what to have for dinner! I'll figure something out . . . . if I even have time to eat. Lots to do today. Stall cleaner is sick again, so the stalls are bad and I need to clean them. Two pet-sitting visits to make. Tractor supply for stall bedding, take to Zebulon. Meet someone to show the room for rent at 6:30. Drive back to Raleigh to pick up Jessica from the airport at 9. I need gas!!

Cannon Ball

Tomorrow I am going to eat only raw food for 24 hours. There are so many delicious-sounding recipes and my mouth is watering, but I'm just not set up to make all the stuff. First I want to be sure I can go a day without meat and beer!!

If it is something I enjoy, maybe I'll try for a handful of days. We'll see.

I haven't even heard of half the things in the recipes, and this is going to be really expensive until spring when I establish my garden and fruit trees. Even then there are a million other things that go into recipes. Hope I don't get too ambitious, overwhelmed, and give up.

But I think I will continue to eat eggs, since mine will be free range organic chickens. And I will definitely eat raw fish. I really don't mind eating dead animals, it doesn't bother me. It's life, we're human, and it's what we do. Now if it is healthier to eat them a certain way, or not eat them at all, that's fine. But I will need to educated myself on that.

Tip Toe

I am getting my feet wet in raw food information. Not sure how I feel about it yet, but I'm taking a baby step today by learning about it. No sense in starting now: already had rice and beans for breakfast, soup with turkey sausage and potatoes for lunch, and some beer. I wonder if there is such thing as raw alcohol?

Taught some lessons today, it was fun. Syd rode Arson for the first time, which was cool because I broke him not long ago. Green on green, excellent for teaching! Jer rode Classy and jumped the gate, which made me excited. I didn't really think it would happen, but she sucked it up and went. Right on.

Eat Your Peas and Carrots

Blended an orange and poured in a bottle of champagne for dinner.

I want to eat more natural foods. Think: fruits, uncooked veggies, natural and organic, etc. I'm not sure the best way to do that without restricting, which is a trigger for my disease. The best way to manage it is to eat what I want . . . and if I want a steak, I better eat a damn steak or I'm in for a day of binging and purging. So maybe managing some sort of food intake regimen is not the best idea. Maybe just adding the kinds of foods I want to eat, not necessarily replacing, just adding. To start, a certain someone will be building me a chicken coop for Christmas, so I'll have my own free range organic eggs. In the spring I want to plant fruit trees: grapefruit (my favorite), apple, pear and maybe lemon. The garden plot here is grossly overgrown, but if I till up the ground and add a shit ton of fertilizer (composted manure from the farm) I might be able to get some uber yummy organic veggies next year.

The other thing I've been wanting to do is my darkroom. The biggest part is ready, I just need all the accessories, chemicals and paper. Should be good for my head, a few hours alone in the dark every day creating my own prints. Listen to the music I like (as opposed to the radio) and just chill. Excited.

That's all for today. Happy day-after-Christmas if anyone actually reads this.
